US Army stops work on aerial common sensor

The Lockheed Martin (Denver, CO) has received a stop-work order on the program to develop Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) from the US Army as the aircraft chosen as the ACS platform cannot handle the weight of the payload and the equipment. The company has been given 60 days for alternative plans to solve the issue.

US Navy aims to avoid another Cole

United States Navy signed a $6-million contract with the Northrop Grumman, in its process to protect its ships from asymmetric threats like the Cole incident in 2005. An overview on the Protection System developed by North Grumman is presented.
