After slow summer 2000 sales in pizza, the top two fast-food pizza chains, Pizza Hut Inc. and Domino's Pizza Inc., are running dueling TV ads during NBC's coverage of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Domino's ads will continue to showcase the exploits of 'Bad Andy,' a puppet created by Henson Productions and Pizza Hut has spent $40 million on a campaign to introduce its new 'Insider' pizza.

Clarins and Lancome begin new and strikingly different campaigns to revise their images

Lancome's $15 million TV and print campaign, created by Air Agency in Paris, features actress Uma Thurman promoting a new fragrance, Miracle. Clarins will launch a $20 million worldwide campaign, created by Leagas Delaney in Paris, that aims to create warmer relations with consumers through ads that are less clinical and more related to real-life situations than are the ads in its existing campaign.
