A sweet victory and a tough loss
Article Abstract:
President George Bush won the presidential election of 2004 on the his strength, which the voters saw in his sometimes imperious character, religious faith and in his willingness to use force to fight terrorism. President Bush, hardly a philosophical man, succeeded by propounding big ideas, moral or strategic, and by turning every argument about domestic policy or war into Manichaean clash of conflicting world view.
