Air Canada lashes out at Onex

Air Canada has criticized Onex Corp's aggressive effort to speed up the approval of its hostile merger proposal. The carrier said that Onex is railroading its shareholders and the Canadian government in its effort to sidestep existing regulatory restrictions governing the airline idnsutry. Onex Corp has earlier announced its proposal to acquire and merge Air Canada and Canadian Airlines International Ltd in a C$1.8-billion cash- and-stock deal.
