Air Canada plans to restart WestJet talks

Air Canada of Montreal, Canada, intends to restart negotiations with WestJet Airlines Ltd, a regional discount airline based in Calgary, Canada, to form a partnership that would allow the former to reduce costs in Western Canada. Air Canada Pres and CEO Lamar Durrett stressed that the company's planned alliance with WestJet would call for a code-sharing arrangement and would not involve any equity investment.
