Air Canada profit target tough: analysts
Article Abstract:
Air Canada Inc may face several challenges in its bid to register a 10% profit margin by 2001, according to analysts. Douglas Port, senior vice- president of corporate affairs, said the company is prepared to overcome all hurdles even in light of rising fuel prices, recent wage settlements and a softening travel market in summer 1999. But analysts are predicting that Air Canada needs to cut staff or service and reach new deals with suppliers to meet its goal.
