Air Canada strike hits services
Article Abstract:
The pilots' strike against Air Canada has affected several suppliers and spinoff service companies, prompting them to lay off workers. Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which is the only airport in the country that almost exclusively carries Air Canada flights, was the most affected by the strike. Some of the airport's security guards were also notified of the layoffs. Due to the strike, Cara Operations Ltd., which provides the in-flight meals on all Air Canada's flights, had to eliminate up to 1,000 employees nationwide.
