TransCanada forges prized gas link to California

TransCanada Corp. is forging links to California's gigantic energy market in order to acquire assets from a struggling US natural gas pipeline firm for $1.2 billion. Under a tentative transaction, it would acquire two pipelines system in the United States, although the real deal is the 2,174-kilometer pipeline running from Kingsgate to Malin.

Petrocan selling Nfld. gas stations
Article Abstract:
St. John's, Nfld.-based North Atlantic Refining Ltd. will acquire forty service stations from rival Calgary, Alb.-based Petro-Canada. North Atlantic Refining, which is owned by Geneva, Switzerland-based Vitrol S.A., operates an oil refinery in northwest St. John's.
