Airline pushes back date for restructuring leases

The completion of Air Canada?s aircraft lease restructuring program has been delayed by about one month. Air Canada, which has been declared insolvent, is seeking to form agreements with a range of aircraft lessors that will allow it to maintain operations.

Personal bankruptcy rate on the rise

Canada's Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy has reported a 6.3% rise in personal bankruptcy filings in the country in early 2000. The report shows that 11,986 individuals filed for personal bankruptcy in January and February 2000.
