Amazon backs off on price-testing efforts
Article Abstract:
Amazon.com Inc said it will change its price-testing policy if it conducts future price tests. The move is in response to numerous consumer complaints regarding the company's controversial price test that involved charging customers different prices for the same digital video disc (DVD). Amazon sold 68 DVD titles during the Labor Day weekend. As a result of the failed test, Amazon issued on Sep 14, 2000 refunds to 6,896 customers.
