Apple software can create music, videos

Apple Computer has introduced a groundbreaking software and a line of personal computers that it hopes will revive is fortunes. The software, called iTunes, allows Macintosh users to download, easily create music and videos, organize a library of music and transfer music to digital MP3 players. The computers include a PowerBook G4 1-in thick laptop that weighs 5 pounds and faster PowerMac G4 PCs ranging from $1,699 to $3,499.

Oracle deal may hit antitrust snag

Justice Department lawyers of U.S. are preparing a possible antitrust challenge to software maker Oracle's $7.3 billion hostile takeover bid for rival PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft revealed that Oracle wants to destroy the company and this move would force 40% of its customers, who use IBM and Microsoft database products to switch to Oracle.
