Analyst stand by faltering Trimark

Mutual fund company Trimark Financial Corp of Toronto, Ontario, sponsors, manages and distributes 17 mutual funds and segregated funds across Canada. Trimark shares closed at C$16.10 on Feb 8, 1999, plunging from its 52-week high of C$29.75 in Mar 1998. The company was hit with net redemptions over the past year as investors continued sell down its faltering Canadian equity funds. Trimark' assets declined to C$24.4 billion in 1998.

O'Donnell building fund dealership unit
Article Abstract:
Brownstone Invesment Planning Inc. of Toronto is being built by parent O'Donnell Investment Managenent Corp. into a strong mutual fund dealership. O'Donnell officials said the move was a strategy against the rapid consolidation of independent mutual fund distributors. Brownstone Investment Planning has about 20 advisers and $70 million in assets under management.
