The prosecution in the case against former Tyco International chairman L. Dennis Lozlowski and former CFO Mark H. Swartz portrayed two thieves who stole more than $600 million from the company as opening statements began the much-anticipated grand larceny trial. Defense attorneys offered a strategy with which they will demonstrate that the board approved all financial compensation packages that were also scrutinized by auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers.
