Automakers fight Arizona's restrictions on Net sales
Article Abstract:
The Arizona Automobile Dealers Assn has filed a case against a new law in Arizona that provides restrictions on how automobile manufacturers can sell and market vehicles over the Internet. The law has been considered as one of the toughest dealer franchise laws in the US. It requires automakers to send the Internet car buyer to the dealer that is located geographically closest to the buyer instead of a dealer selected by the manufacturer. The attorney general's office in Arizona has agreed not to enforce the law until the case has been settled.

Automakers unlikely to meet monitor deadline
Article Abstract:
Automobile manufacturers are unlikely to meet the three-year deadline set in a Congressional legislation that requires installation of tire pressure monitors in all new vehicles. One of the reasons is that the government has not yet establish clear standards. Moreover, suppliers is still do not have enough production capacity and automakers do not have enough time to make changes on assembly lines.
