New Japanese construction standards for hemlock wood may force the British Columbia government to provide assistance to forestry firms. Duncan, BC-based Doman Industries Ltd., Vancouver, BC-based Canfor Corp. and Weyerhaeuser Co. are researching improved wood drying techniques.
