Supreme Court lets BCSC share data on brokerage

The British Columbia Securities Commission will be allowed to provide data about Vancouver, BC-based Global Securities Corp. to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The case, which was decided by the Supreme Court of Canada, sets a precedent for the sharing of information by regulators across provincial and national borders.

BMO, BCSC settle allegations over funds in offshore account

The British Columbia Securities Commission has settled a case with the Bank of Montreal over an improper offshore account. BMO will replace funds it had withdrawn from an account that it had opened under the name of an offshore entity.
