Balisoft to merge with U.S. company

Balisoft Technologies Inc, a Toronto, Canada-based software maker, is merging with Needham, MA-based Servicesoft Corp, which produces software used to create Web sites that offer customers product information online. The new firm will be called Servicesoft Technology Corp, with 90 employees and offices in Toronto and Needham. Balisoft's software allows Internet users who get information or purchase products click on a button to speak with a customer service representative.

Music retailers plan merger
Article Abstract:
Music retailers CD Plus.com Inc of Mississaiga, Ontario, and CD Warehouse Inc of Oklahoma City, OK, have announced their plans to merge. The deal would create a a new company with 474 corporate-owned and franchise stores, with a combined market value of C$60 million and annual sales of C$243 million. The merger would also combine their Web sites, in which CD Plus.com sells new compact discs while CD Warehouse specializes in selling used CDs.
