New South Wales (NSW) state Liberal leader John Brogden resigned September 2005 after the media published reports of some beer-fueled indiscretions at a function in July that year. Brogden apologized for his behavior and resigned from his post, but political leaders of an earlier era, such as Bob Hawke and Bill Clinton, were luckier and were able to get away with a lot worse.
