Board warns productivity must rise
Article Abstract:
The conference held by the Board of Canada on Canada's economic performance reported that Canadian companies should lift their productivity closer to that of their American counterparts, otherwise the country would face the risks of seeing its standard of living fall further behind the United States. Lower productivity is the main cause, which has led Canada's gross domestic product per capita to only 84 percent that of the United States in 2003, which is equal to $6,078 for each Canadian.
