Leonard Asper, the president and chief executive officer of CanWest Global Communications Corp., has predicted that consumers will have to wait to see the benefits of convergence in the media, entertainment and telecommunications industries. His remarks were made at the annual conference of the Canadian Media Directors' Council.

Rogers seeks ethnic TV license in B.C

Rogers Communications Inc. is seeking a seven year license to launch Local Multilingual Television. RCI's Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. plans to spend two hundred and twenty eight million Canadian dollars over the seven year period. The license is for service for Vancouver and the Lower Mainland in British Columbia.
