P&G aims to banish bad hair

Procter and Gamble Co (P and G) will spend an estimated $100 million for the marketing campaign of its Physique line of shampoo, conditioner and other hair styling products. The company, which has commissioned a Yale University study on bad hair, has chosen advertising firm Saatchi and Saatchi to create the advertisement. P and G's Physique line of hair care products is claimed to be capable of eliminating bad hair days and their stressful effects.

Clairol's hair fantasy ads are a nightmare for some women

Clairol Inc's TV commercial for its Herbal Essences shampoo continues to spark a war of words between top female executives. The commercial features a female lawyer in a courtroom transported into an orgasmic fantasy by the shampoo. The warring parties are the Advertising Women of New York and Linda Kaplan Thaler, the Kaplan Thaler Group Pres and founder. The association feels insulted by what it calls a stupefyingly dull commercial while Kaplan Thaler feels that the group should lighten up.

Fox's sporting life takes top ad prize
Article Abstract:
Fox Sports won the the Grand Prix award for the best TV commercials at the 48th International Advertising Festival held in Cannes, France. The sports channel won the award for its humorous ads that feature mock sports programming from around the world. Among these are cliff-diving onto rocks in Turkey; a face-slapping contest in Russia; two blindfolded athletes swinging big clubs in India; and a man being crushed while trying to catch a falling tree in China.
