Companies recruiting former employees

Employers, pressured by a tight labor market, are now hiring former employees more aggressively. Companies who once put a high value on loyalty are asking former employees to come back because of their expertise. Alumni groups, newsletters, e-mail exchanges and cocktail parties are just among the tools used by employers to keep in touch with their former workers and hopefully lure them back.

Ford employees to get computers
Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Co has launched a three-year program to provide its employees with home computers and Internet access. Under the program, the automaker's employees worldwide can sign up for a Hewlett-Packard computer,a color printer and unlimited Internet access through UUnet for $5 a month. Ford said that the program will enable its workers to boost their technology skills, help with training and improve communications.

Competitive job market locks out former offenders
Article Abstract:
The workers with criminal records are facing uncertain employment future in USA because the employers are not willing to hire people with criminal backgrounds. The laws are protecting the public safety and are restricting the ex-offenders with specific criminal pasts from working with the population but the critics state that the restrictions are too broad.
