Bailing out from the Super Bowl ad binge

The January 2000 conclusion of the Super Bowl left many online or dot-com firms holding an empty bag after their million-dollar gamble on advertising in the Super Bowl did not pay off. The one-shot-deal mentality of many of the online companies that advertised, which was a highlighted by a fund raising frenzy, had an anticlimatic ending as many of these rookie firms learned the hard way that a company does not grow simply by advertising.

Ricky Martin's new song: livin' la vida Pepsi
Article Abstract:
Pepsi-Cola Co has signed a deal with Latino pop music star Ricky Martin for the endorsement of its softdrink brand. The deal is estimated to be worth $2 million to $5 million and calls for Pepsi to sponsor Martin's North American tour and promote its involvement through a television advertisement. Also under the deal, Martin will appear in Spanish-language Pepsi spots that will air in North American Spanish channels.
