Corel sales warning sinks shares
Article Abstract:
Corel Corp's warning that its revenue for the 1st qtr of 1999 went down resulted in the company's shares to tumble and sent it deep into financial trouble. The Ottawa, Canada-based software maker reported that it lost 24 cents per share, or about $24 million, in the period that ended Feb 28, 1999, while revenue dropped to $40.3 million. Corel's 4th qtr profit in 1998 seemed to herald that the company was about to come out of the red.
