Corus expects CRTC decision mid-May

Corus Entertainment Inc. is expecting the federal broadcasting regulator to deliver a policy decision on the future ownership of TV channels in mid-May. Also, according to John Cassaday, the president and CEO of Corus, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has ruled out a public hearing on the issue of ownership.

Corus to make Movie Central investment

Corus Entertainment Inc (Toronto, Canada) plans to invest over Can$6 mil to launch pay-TV movie service, Movie Central, on 4/1/01, replacing Superchannel and MovieMax. Corus will spend an additional Can$1.5 mil on programming during 2001 and will double the number of movies scheduled per month.
