Article Abstract:
The backdating stock option scandal could lead to serious implications, and shareholders could sue the companies involved in the scandal, while federal prosecutions are also a possibility. However, critics are not happy with the slow pace of enforcement against the backdating stock option and also, commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission have refused to charge penalties for people who exercised backdated options.
