'E' in eBay might stand for expansion
Article Abstract:
Online auction site eBay has embarked on a very ambitious plan to earn $3 billion in revenues by 2005. The revenue growth would come mostly from business-to-business transactions, which generate higher commissions. During 2000, revenues doubled to $431.4 million, which is expected to continue to rise at an annual growth rate of 50% during the next four years. The company accounts for 85% of the online auction market, very much ahead of Yahoo! and Amazon.
