Yahoo stands alone in Web wars
Article Abstract:
Independent, Internet World Wide Web-based search service and directory Yahoo has prospered considerably in spring and summer, compared to other online services but its executives remain cautious and watchful. Despite its profitability, Yahoo's caution is justified. It remains the only company that is waging a monumental battle against goliaths such as America Online and Microsoft, Disney, NBC, USA Networks, Excite At Home and Lycos for the hearts, minds and money of Web surfers.
