EBay readies for airwave ad blitz
Article Abstract:
EBay is supplementing its traditional low-key approach to marketing by launching its first TV advertising campaign which may lead to a national rollout. Analysts believe that the timing for the advertising campaign is not right since there has been an industrywide retreat from the airwaves and most Internet firms are cutting their outlays. The move is also seen as dangerous for EBay which has emerged as one of the few profitable retailers on the Internet due to its ability to grow while spending a pittance on advertising.
