Electronic Data Systems to buy Sabre airline computer unit; the sale will let Sabre concentrate on its travel businesses

Plano, TX-based Electronic Data Systems Corp. will purchase Dallas, TX-based Sabre Holdings Corp. for $670 million. The purchase will give EDS a ten-percent share of the airline market in computer services. The merger will allow Sabre to concentrate its efforts on travel software, marketing and distribution.
