Enbridge buys 35% stake in AltaGas

Enbridge Inc, formerly IPL Energy Inc, is acquiring a 35% interest in Calgary, Canada-based AltaGas Services Inc, for C$160 million. AltaGas, which acquired in 1998 Centra Gas Alberta Inc from Westcoast Energy Inc of Vancouver, Canada, for C$61 million, extracts natural gas liquids from gas for sale in Alberta, Canada's rural areas. Meanwhile, Calgary-based Enbridge, the second-biggest pipeline firm in Canada, is also the owner of Enbridge Consumers Gas of Toronto, Canada.

U.S. energy giant to buy Remington
Article Abstract:
Dominion Resources Inc is acquiring Remington Energy Ltd for $50 million. The deal calls for Dominion Energy Canada Ltd (DEC), a Canadian subsidiary, to pay $1.90 per share for the Calgary-based oil and gas company. DEC will also assume $240 million in long-term debt and $69 million in bridge financing. Remington's outstanding debt obligations has hampered its oil and gas developments.
