Entrepreneur acts as mentor
Article Abstract:
Ascend Communications Founder and Former CEO Rob Ryan acts as mentor to aspiring entrepreneurs, who are trek to Ryan's Montana's Bitterfoot Mountains ranch. Ryan, a self-made multimillionaire, pampers his guests with fine wine, salmon and rest in a log cabin. He also grills them about their business in a conference room. Although networking equipment firm Ascend Communications does not charge invited would-be entrepreneurs for their stay in the ranch, Ryan usually takes less than 1% of stock and a seat on the board at the company he decides to work with.
