Article Abstract:
The Air Line Pilots Association is threatening to boycott certain airports in protest of a new rule that it says increases the risk of plane collisions. The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed allowing the simultaneous use of crossing runways to reduce delays at some of the busiest airports in the US. FAA to call for updated 737 recorders
Article Abstract:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revealed that it will soon require upgraded data recorders aboard Boeing 747 jets. The move will be made following findings of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) that the jet's rudder system has caused two fatal crashes. According to a NTSB recommendation, a series of improvements, including an improved data recorder, would avert and reduce the chance of a rudder malfunction. The specific time table for the upgrade was not revealed by the agency.
