U.S. Institutes Fingerprinting At Entry Points
Article Abstract:
The Dept. of Homeland Security has initiated a program to fingerprint and photograph foreign travelers after they arrive in the US via airlines and cruise ships. The safety procedures are in place at 115 airports and 14 major seaports. Terrorism concerns were significant as New Year's Day approached, and intelligence data focused on flights between London and DC, particularly British Airways Flight 223 to Dulles. Other interest revolved around flights to Los Angeles from Paris and Mexico City via Air France and Aeromexico.
