Ottawa, Ont.-based JDS Uniphase Corp. and Brampton, Ont.-based Nortel Networks Corp., two of the world's leading fiber optics companies, have forged strong ties through their four founders. JDS' Josef Straus and Nortel's chief executive officer John Roth continue to collaborate.
