Fixing urban schools: Agreeing to disagree
Article Abstract:
Schools are unanimously expected to educate students effectively, but there is disagreement about the ways in which schools can be helped to achieve better academic standards. It is proposed that while revising the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, lawmakers should consider how to change whole school districts by achieving a balance between federal interventions and local processes.
