AOL pays $3.5M to settle SEC case
Article Abstract:
America Online Inc has paid $3.5 million in fines to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission for an alleged violation of accounting standards. Home Depot clobbered after earnings report
Article Abstract:
Home Depot shares fell $13.81 to $35.13 which slashed Wall Street's appraisal of the company by 28%, or $32 billion. The cut of 82 points from the Dow Jones industrial average is attributable to the home improvement retail store chain's announcement that its earnings per share will grow 17% instead of the 25% that had been expected. The 17% growth is not enough to support the high price of the stock, nor does it satisfy the kind of money managers that invested on Home Depot shares in 1999.
