Disruptive virus hits computers around world
Article Abstract:
An e-mail message with the subject heading 'I Love You' may contain an attachment, that when opened, deletes files, copies and sends browser passwords to a Web site in the Philippines, and forwards the message to every person in the user's email address file. The virus seemed to be designed to attack primarily users of Microsoft Outlook software. Systems administrators in the U.S. and U.K. quickly took email servers offline Wednesday. Some government agencies and corporations were affected in those countries. Experts emphasized the importance of opening e-mail attachments only after verifying the sender.
