Ford Canada ends financial reporting
Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd of Oakville, Ontario, has announced that it is ending its 80 years of financial reporting because no other Ford Motor operations outside the US reports separate financial results. The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor when its minority shareholders were bought out at $185 per share. Ford Canada posted a profit of C$685 million on sales of $27.9 billion in 1997.

Auto investments bypass Canada

A new survey from the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association of Canada reveals that the auto industry invested over $11 billion worldwide in the first half of 2003. DaimlerChrysler closed an auto assembly plant in Canada in 2003 and announced that it will postpone plans to build a new auto assembly plant in Ontario.
