Article Abstract:
Small makers of personal computers face a difficult year in 2001, with several being driven out of business due to slowing sales and price wars driven by larger competitors. The home computer market dropped 12% year-over-year as consumers bought personal digital assistants, DVD players and cellphone instead of computers.
