Hewlett Profits Come In Lower Than Expected
Article Abstract:
After disclosing that Hewlett-Packard's profits would not meet expectations for the third quarter, Carly Fiona wasted no time in firing three vice presidents in the Customer Solutions Division, the division that sells equipment to corporations and government. The company earned $846 million in the quarter ended July 31, compared with $858 million in the same quarter last year. This represents earnings of 24 cents a share, compared with analysts' estimates of a profit of 31 cents a share.
