Hotels offer airline check-in services to help travellers avoid long lines at airports. These services include booths where tickets can be purchased and luggages can be checked in. Hotels that are offering check-in services are Bally's Las Vegas and Sahara Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, for America West and Delta Air Lines passengers; Harrah's Las Vegas and Rio Suites Casino Resort in Las Vegas for National Airlines; Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, Canada, for Air Canada and Canadian Airlines International; and Gateway Hotel in Atlanta, GA, for Delta Air Lines.

Labor crunch leaves hotels, tourist spots scrambling

Travelers are complaining of deteroriating customer service standards in US hotels because of the lack of available workers. The low unemployment rate, combined with a booming tourism, has placed a burden on the ability of US restaurants, amusement centers and hotels to hire individuals to meet the needs of their clients. Employers have resorted to lowering their hiring standards and making up for the move through additional staff trainings.

High-speed Net access at hotels hard to find

Newspaper USA Today has discovered that only two out of 15 major hotel chains provide high-speed Internet access in their individual hotels. High-speed Internet access is high on the priorities of business travelers. A survey among business travelers indicated that 42% consider it very or extremely important. A hotel official opined that some hotels do not consider Internet access as a service that would attract guests.
