EPA to hit pollution by diesel
Article Abstract:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is expected to propose deep cuts in the amount of pollutants in diesel fuel. EPA's proposal is expected to require diesel-fueled vehicles to reduce the level of nitrogen oxides and particulates in diesel fuel. The proposal will also call for a steep cut in the amount of sulfur in diesel fuel. The proposal will only cover new vehicles and will be effective only by 2007 at the earliest.
