Howard could have calmed Asian crisis

Australian Prime Minister John Howard missed an opportunity to encourage the Asia Pacific Economic Co-Operation summit to act on the economic crisis in Asia. Howard failed to lobby the leaders attending the summit about the seriousness of the crisis. Howard also failed to keep in touch with Asian leaders during the international crisis over Iraq.
