Hog exports could face U.S. tariffs
Article Abstract:
The U.S. pork producers feel that the Canadian hog producers dump live animals at cut-rate prices in the US market threatening the survival of several producers and that the subsidized Canadian pork is undermining the U.S. market prices. The U.S. government may impose tariffs on Canadian pigs if it agrees with the pork lobby's complaints, but the farmers in Canada believe that tariffs would depress the already fragile industry.
