Hyundai's Santa Fe SUV is based on the South Korean automaker's Sonata sedan platform, and is available in front- or all-wheel drive models. The Santa Fe sells for $16,499 for the GL front-wheel drive, four-cylinder, manual transmission model to $21,999 for the LX with all-wheel drive, V-6 engine and automatic transmission. Standard features for the GL include five-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive, power steering, AM/FM/CD stereo while its LX counterpart has an automatic transmission and a casette player added.

Gas-electric Durango revved up for '03
Article Abstract:
DaimlerChrysler AG announced on Oct 2000 that it will be able to roll out a gasoline-electric hybrid version of its Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle in the US before the end of 2003. The Durango hybrid will have an electric motor to drive the front wheels and 3.9-liter gas V-6 engine to drive the back ones. It can cover 18.6 miles on one gallon of gas and accelerate as quickly as the V-8 Durango at 15.5 mpg.
