Insurance caps leave some struggling to pay
Article Abstract:
The rising cost of health care has caused an increase in the number of individuals reaching their lifetime caps, the maximum amount that insurance companies will pay during a person's lifetime. The development, though still rare at about 2,500 individuals annually in the US, is expected to increase from year to year. About 80% of all existing health insurance policies have a lifetime limit of $1 million.

Health-plan hassles called threat to care
Article Abstract:
A survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health showed that conflicts involving physicians, nurses and health insurance companies is affecting patient care standards and raising calls for tighter regulation. Insurers say the survey fails to integrate the impact of health care improvements, which has led to a reduction of unecessary and even dangerous services.
