Investor revolt widens over MEC buyout: MI president blasted on conference call

The revolt against the MI Developments Inc. buyout of minority shareholders of Magna Entertainment Corp., widened in August 2004, as investors questioned the proposal and MI management for not having read a filing made to block the deal. Greenlight, a New York investment firm that holds about 10 percent of MI's shares, wants the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) to force the company to allow the real estate firm's minority shareholders to vote on the deal.
