Shopping online opens strong in 2000
Article Abstract:
The initial monthly survey of online spending in the US reported that consumers spent $2.8 billion in Jan 2000, alone. The figure, which represents online transactions for computer equipment, airline tickets and other products, is just a slight drop from the $3.5 billion spent during the previous holiday season. The survey, conducted by the National Retail Federation and online research firm Forrester, confirms the rapid adoption of electronic commerce in the US.

It is better to give than to return online
Article Abstract:
Online retailers are expected to see a huge volume of product returns, which are becoming a hassle to online shoppers. According to the USA Today/IntelliQuest holiday survey, half of the 367 consumers surveyed find it more difficult to return items bought through the Internet. Customer service experts think that many online mechants have concentrated heavily on fron-end operations and not on developing service.
