Labor unrest is rattling the telecommunications business, from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, as management and workers are engaged with fundamental changes in the industry. New technology and increasing competition have raised tough question about the role of labor and have fed disputes such as the eight-week strike at Aliant Telecom Inc.

Nortel launches aggressive ad campaign

Nortel Networks launched an advertising campaign on 15th September 2004 in order to rebuild its brand name among business leaders. For this, Nortel plans to spend nearly $15-million on advertising through newspapers and magazines that are involved in business-orientated publications around the world.
